Don’t miss me, Mark Zacharia, on the next leg of my “Markipedia” lecture tour. I’m coming to Denny & Lee’s Saturday, Aug. 8 at 6:00 p.m. I am a regular attendee up at the 4F convention in Batavia, NY, and now I bring my 20 years of strolling and restaurant magic experience to Maryland in my newest lecture.
My lecture emphasizes finesse over knucklebusting skill, so you will be able to perform everything within minutes of learning it.
This lecture includes my “5-Card Monte,” an ungaffed Wild Card effect that Alexander de Cova praises for its ingenuity. This is completely examinable and resets instantaneously. This is the effect that won “Best Effect” at the 2014 TRICS convention in North Carolina.
“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” is my take on an accepted principle of card magic that leaves your audience with a memento of your time together. Your spectator freely selects any card from a deck on the back of which is written a different dollar amount with the understanding that whatever amount is on his selected card he is guaranteed to win. He selects any card; while all the backs have different amounts, he turns his card over and it reads, “Wooden Nickel”–he gets a wooden nickel souvenir and you’re reset for the next table. Comes complete with all the patter and gags I use in my walk-around set.
I also teach my ACAAN, which has no memorization, no displacement of cards, and can be used with a deck that is already shuffled and in use.
My “Anniversary Lambada” has long been an underground favorite of fans who already are familiar with “Anniversary Waltz” popularized by Doc Eason. Now an in-the-hands version, Doc himself said of this, “Mark, this is fabulous … it’s too good to release.” Paul Hallas says, “The best version of ‘Anniversary Waltz’ is by Mark Zacharia in his lecture notes.”. And Alexander de Cova says, “I used to perform a very different approach to ‘Anniversary’ … your routine is absolutely great and I will be using your improvement from now on. You truly are one of those people who really love magic.”
On the quality of my material, Magic Menu editor Jim Sisti says my notes are “filled with proven ideas from an experienced worker and as such deserves your serious consideration.”
Want more testimonials:
“If more magicians knew what Mark Zacharia knows about restaurant magic, more magicians would be in business. Mark’s lecture clearly reflects the years of experience he’s had performing close-up magic at restaurants. You’ll learn some great magic and get great advice from a pro.” – Kostya Kimlat
“Mark Zacharia’s lecture offers some of the best advice to approaching presenting magic as a close-up magician as you are going to find.”–Garrett Thomas
I will also tip my experience on how to approach tables, how to get the work, how to self-promote, as well as my work on the Classic Force.
There’s something in this lecture for every serious close-up performer. My opener alone, “Sobriety Test,” will amaze and amuse you.#youwillbelieveinmagic Follow me on Twitter @youwillbelievei
